[ARCHIVED] Second Bond Project Gets Underway

NAG groundbreaking city news

The North Andrews Gardens Community Center is the second of several projects in the Comprehensive Facilities Plan aimed at Building Oakland Park’s Second Century. Funded through a bond that was approved by 67 percent of voters in 2018, the Facilities Plan is a ten-year redevelopment initiative to construct and renovate several buildings in Oakland Park.

Oakland Park broke ground in June 2021 on the first bond project, Phase I of City Park. The City anticipates hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Phase I of City Park later this year.

The North Andrews Gardens Community Center project was designed by Currie Sowards Aguila Architects and will be constructed by State Contracting and Engineering Corp. Construction is expected to begin immediately and take approximately one year to complete. The project will be partially funded through a $250,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund grant from the Department of Environmental Protection.
