Oakland Park’s monthly food delivery program continues to go strong, providing steady support for neighbors who are elderly, homebound, or otherwise unable to get out for basic groceries. Thanks to volunteers and community partners, the city is now delivering food each month to 201 Oakland Park residents.
This work grew out of a real need. During the pandemic, Oakland Park partnered with Wilton Manors and Fort Lauderdale to host weekly food distributions from April 2020 through May 2021 and also supported deliveries to homebound residents. From there, the program expanded and strengthened through continued partnerships and community support, helping ensure residents can count on this service month after month.
We’re grateful to our partners HandsOn Broward and Farm Share for helping make this program possible each month. And to the staff and volunteers who pack and deliver food directly to residents’ doors: thank you. Your time, care, and consistency make a real difference for neighbors who need our support.
Upcoming delivery dates include February 28th and March 28th, 2026. If you are interested in volunteering to help pack or deliver meals, please sign up on the City website or call 954-630-4506. Homebound seniors interested in receiving meals should call 954-831-4000 to sign up for the Broward County Vulnerable Population Registry.
