City of Oakland Park Mayor Mitch Rosenwald, Vice Mayor Tim Lonergan, and Commissioner Aisha Gordon took the Oath of Office on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023, during a swearing-in ceremony on the steps of City Hall. The three elected officials will serve on the City Commission with Commissioners Steven R. Arnst and Letitia Newbold.

Mayor Mitch Rosenwald was elected to the Oakland Park City Commission in 2020. Mitch brings the perspective of a social worker, a researcher, and a community activist to this position. He believes that residents, business owners, and city administration can partner to balance smart development with neighborhood integrity. He is committed to hearing the residents’ voice, building strong, diverse neighborhoods, cultivating smart growth, and creating a “greener” Oakland Park.

Vice Mayor Lonergan was elected to the City Commission in November 2022. He is focused on helping Oakland Park become a more affordable, desirable, and safer place to live, shop, visit, work, and play. Lonergan is dedicated and determined to see Oakland Park move successfully and prosperously into the future and believes it is important that we all work together to build a strong sense of community and pride citywide.
