Residential Property-Keep Oakland Park Beautiful Award Nomination Form

    The Keep Oakland Park Beautiful Award recognizes locations that significantly enhance the beauty, environmental quality, and character of Oakland Park through thoughtful upgrades, landscaping improvements, and sustainable practices. This award is given by the City of Oakland Park Beautification Advisory Board/ Keep Oakland Park Beautiful Board to local residential and commercial properties.

    Nomination forms will be accepted February 1 - March 31 for the Spring Awards, and accepted July 1 - August 31 for the Fall Awards.

    The Board will then discuss and vote on the nominees at their next scheduled monthly meeting. Each award recipient will be recognized at a regular Commission Meeting and receive an Award Certificate denoting their achievement.

  17. Trees & palms (3 large palms=1 Shade tree) properly trimmed; no illegal pruning

  19. Dead or hazardous trees/palms

  20. Pools and/or Fountains are free of trash/stagnant water; well maintained

  21. Lawn

  22. Sustainability & Native Planting

  23. Grass thick, healthy, recently mowed and edged

  24. Use of native plants or Florida Friendly Landscaping varieties

  36. Roof is clean, in good condition/well-maintained

  39. Healthy, good color, no insect/disease signs

  40. Paint color is harmonious with surrounding properties and/or aesthetically pleasing

  41. Neatly trimmed; not obstructing sidewalks or driveways
