Community spirit got off to a great start for 2024 with a neighborhood cleanup and food delivery in Oakland Park.
About two dozen volunteers met at Farm Share Saturday morning to pack and deliver critical food supplies to help about 100 homebound residents in our community.
Another group of 14 volunteers met out west to conduct a cleanup of the greenway and waterway along NW 39th Street, between NW 21st and NW 31st Avenues.
We want to thank all the volunteers who gave up some of their free time to help others and beautify our city. We truly appreciate you. Thank you for all you do to showcase the spirit of Oakland Park and make this such a wonderful place to call home!
Homebound seniors interested in participating are encouraged to call 954-831-4000 to sign up for the Broward County Vulnerable Population Registry. Anyone interested in volunteering to help with deliveries should please call 954-630-4494. Click here to learn about other upcoming volunteer opportunities in Oakland Park.
