The NE 13 Avenue Sidewalk and Drainage Improvement Project continues to move forward and is approximately 30% complete. This important infrastructure project will improve pedestrian safety, neighborhood connectivity, and stormwater management along the NE 13 Avenue corridor and side streets.
Drainage work is ongoing throughout the project area, and NE 36 Street and NE 37 Street are the first side streets to have underground drainage installed. The next step will be installing sidewalks and related surface improvements in those areas.
When complete, the project will add new sidewalks, providing safer and more accessible routes for residents and visitors traveling through the neighborhood. The project also includes significant stormwater infrastructure improvements, including drainage structures and swales designed to address long-standing drainage concerns and improve the City's ability to manage heavy rainfall and future storm events.
These improvements are made possible through grant funding and partnerships with regional agencies, allowing the city to deliver critical infrastructure upgrades while leveraging outside resources.
As construction continues, City staff and the project team remain committed to working directly with residents to address questions and coordinate work occurring on the right-of-way adjacent to their properties. Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the project team so staff can review the project plans and provide additional information. See contact information below.
