Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of June 19 - June 26. For updated lane closure information, please refer to www.d4fdot.com

Current roadway construction projects underway in Oakland Park include:

20. NW 21st Avenue Mobility Improvement/Bridge Replacement Project in Oakland Park, Tamarac and Fort Lauderdale

Description: This project will take place along NW 21st Avenue from SR 870/Commercial Boulevard and SR 816/Oakland Park Boulevard. The project consists of adding 5-foot buffered bike lanes in each direction and replacing the existing bridge over the South Florida Water Management District C-13 Canal. Improvements will also include upgrading signalization at NW 39th Street and NW 44th Street, installation of sidewalks and curb ramps with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements, milling and resurfacing, and upgrading signing and pavement markings. Cost/Completion: $7.2 million / winter 2021

Traffic Impact: 

One lane in each direction will be closed intermittently along NW 21st Avenue from Commercial Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard, 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for bridge work, roadway widening and reconstruction and milling and resurfacing.

25. Prospect Road Mobility Improvement Project from SR 870/Commercial Boulevard to SR 811/North Dixie Highway in Tamarac, Oakland Park and Fort Lauderdale

Description: This project consists of widening Prospect Road from Commercial Boulevard to Powerline Road to accommodate 5-foot bike lanes in each direction and repurposing the outside travel lanes from Powerline Road to Dixie Highway to accommodate 7-foot buffered bike lanes in each direction. Improvements also include upgrading the existing roadway lighting to LED fixtures at the Powerline Road intersection, installing curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, performing minor drainage improvements, upgrading signage and pavement markings, and milling and resurfacing. Traffic Impact:

One lane in each direction will be closed intermittently on Prospect Road from SR 870/Commercial Boulevard to NW 10th Avenue, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, for landscaping, drainage operations, roadway widening and paving.

One lane in each direction will be closed intermittently on Prospect Road from SR 870/Commercial Boulevard to NW 10th Avenue, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Saturday, for roadway widening and paving operations.

Two lanes in each direction may be closed on Prospect Road from NW 10th Avenue to Dixie Highway, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, for curb installation, irrigation, manhole and valve adjustments.

One lane in each direction will be closed continuously on Prospect Road from NW 10th Avenue to Dixie Highway for curb installation, irrigation, manhole and valve adjustments.
