City Opens New Wag Dog Park

City News Flash Posted on January 08, 2024

Hold on to your leashes because the moment we've been waiting for has arrived – Wag Dog Park is officially OPEN for playtime and furry adventures! Nestled beside the Richard E. Giusti Heart Par Cours at 600 NE 38th Street, this canine paradise is not just a dog park; it's a vibrant hub of excitement for our four-legged friends and their devoted owners.

Wag Dog Park is a haven where dogs can unleash their boundless energy in a secure and entertaining environment. But that's not all – Wag Dog Park isn't just about the dogs; it's about fostering a sense of community among pet owners. It's the perfect place to connect with fellow residents who share the same passion for their furry companions.

The Wag Dog Park site has undergone a magnificent transformation, boasting new benches, sleek trash receptacles, refreshing water stations, lush trees, picturesque landscaping, parking, a revamped sidewalk, and improved drainage. We’ve invested in new furnishings that mirror those at other City parks to create a consistent look throughout our vibrant community.

And this is just the beginning! As part of our commitment to enhancing Oakland Park for the next century, Wag Dog Park joins a stellar lineup of recent additions. If you haven’t been, be sure to stop by the fabulous North Andrews Gardens Community Center at 250 NE 56th Court and the splendid City Park at 3900 NE 3rd Avenue – both shining examples of our dedication to a thriving community.

But wait, there's more to come! Get ready for Phase II improvements at Richard E. Giusti Heart Par Cours. We're gearing up to elevate the experience with a renovated walking trail, modern signage, shade pergolas, picnic tables, benches, trash receptacles, and water fountains. It's all part of our grand vision to create spaces that reflect the dynamic spirit of Oakland Park as we look ahead to 2029.

Join us in celebrating another milestone as Wag Dog Park takes its place as the latest jewel in our community crown. Let the tail-wagging adventures begin!
