The City of Oakland Park was proud to host a Promotional Ceremony Tuesday to promote seven firefighters and welcome four new firefighters into its Fire Rescue Department. The names of those promoted and joining the department can be found below. Firefighters and their families were joined at the ceremony by the Oakland Park City Commission and Fire Chief Stephen Krivjanik, among others. The ceremony occurred on November 28th at the Collins Community Center at 3900 NE 3rd Avenue.
The new firefighters completed training recently in fire response and emergency medical services. Following the pinning ceremony, they will begin a six-month period of training in the field. The City of Oakland Park operates three fire stations with 72 firefighters and responds to about 9,000 calls for service each year.
