The Purchasing Division oversees the purchasing function, to obtain goods and services in a transparent and competitive manner that ensures the most cost-effective use of city resources.

Bids & Solicitations

The City of Oakland Park uses DemandStar/OpenBids to notify vendors of formal Invitations to Bid (ITBs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs).

Vendors must register on DemandStar/OpenBids to receive notifications of bid opportunities.  Notifications are based on the commodity codes selected at the time of registration.

Purchasing Ordinance

  • Sec. 2-191. - Purpose.


    The purpose of this article is to provide for the fair and equitable treatment of all vendors, contractors and bidders who do and seek to do business with the city, to maximize the purchasing value of public funds in procurement, and to provide safeguards for maintaining a procurement system of quality and integrity.
