The Rental Assistance, Small Business and Non-Profit Assistance funds are made possible by the Broward County Commission, with funding from the federal CARES Act. For eligibility requirements, lists of documentation needed, and to apply visit Broward.org/Cares.
Broward's Family Success Division is administering the rental assistance program, To apply, please call any one of the following four numbers and provide your contact information. A representative from the Broward County Family Success Administration will contact you by telephone and/or e-mail in the order that your information is received. This program is subject to the availability of funds.
The Office of Economic and Small Business Development is handling the small business and non-profit program.
Mortgage & Utility Bill Assistance: Homeowners affected by COVID may apply for up to 10 months assistance to pay delinquent mortgage payments, association dues and/or utility bills. Eligible homeowners must have a current homestead exemption on homesteaded residences in eligible Broward cities, with household income at or below 140% of the Area Median Income, and have been impacted by COVID. Due to State expenditure deadlines, complete applications must be received no later than Monday, December 7, 2020. Assistance is on a first come, first qualified, first served basis, until available funds are expended.
Electric Bill Assistance: Low-income families struggling to pay their electric bill may be eligible for financial assistance through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Eligibility is based on income and household size. The Broward County LIHEAP Program is for Broward County residents.
