Unsafe Structures Board Meeting

Meetings are held 7:30 p.m. the 1st Tuesday of every month Membership The Unsafe Structures Board consists of 9 members appointed by the City Commission: 1 attorney at law; 1 citizen with experience and background in the field of social problems; 1 electrical contractor; 1 general building contractor; 1 plumbing contractor; 1 real estate appraiser; 1 real estate property manager; 1 registered architect; 1 registered engineer. Each term of office shall last 3 years.

Qualifications

All professional members shall be registered and licensed in the State of Florida. In the event the City Commission cannot find a properly qualified resident of the City, it may appoint a qualified nonresident for the specific professions required.

Duties

To hold appeal hearings regarding violators of the Minimum Housing Code and condemnation of structures under the South Florida Building Code.
