Oakland Park's Father's Day Weekend Fishing is a fun and educational "catch and release" event held every year on the Saturday before Father's Day. This event is open to everyone. Learn about rigging the pole, bait and hooks and how to fish.

Q: Is there a charge to join the competition?
A: No. There is no charge to compete.
Q: Do I need to pre-register?
A: Yes. You will need to call (954) 630-4525 to pre-register for the free event.
Q: Are there age restrictions?
A: No. All ages are welcome to compete. Prizes will be awarded in different age categories.
Q: Is it only open to fathers?
A: No. Fathers, mothers, sons daughters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors are all invited to join.
Q: Can live bait be used?
A: Yes. Anglers can use any type of bait or tackle.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: No. Dogs are not permitted at Royal Palm Park. Feel free to bring your furry friend to Bark Park which is right down the street.
Q: If I don’t live within walking distance, where can I park?
A: There is limited parking on the north end of Royal Palm Park and more parking available on the south end of the park.
