    Adults. Need some tax assistance? Visit the library for free tax preparation assistance by IRS certified volunteers made possible through a partnership with Hispanic Unity of Florida. Starting Saturday, February 2 through Monday, April 15, 2019. Sessions will fall on the following dates and times: Mondays from 2-5 PM, Tuesdays from 1-4 PM, and Saturdays from 9 AM- 12 PM. Note that there are 2 day exceptions where no tax assistance service will be available: Saturday, February 23rd and Tuesday, March 26th. Make sure to bring all required documents.   3. Black History Month Storytelling Slam!

    February 28, 2019, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Ethel M. Gordon Oakland Park Library

    Ages 16 and up. Registration required. Prizes, new friends and the chance to have your voice heard await you at the Library's Black History Month Storytelling Slam. Share your 5 to 7 minute true story of a situation or incident in your life that you feel reflects the black experience. Come to compete in a welcoming, informal atmosphere, or just come to listen. You may surprise yourself with a story of your own. No essays, notes or memorization, please. All are welcome; ages 16 and up can share stories. Refreshments will be served.
