  2. National Night Out Hosted by BSO/Oakland Park District

    October 3, 2017, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Collins Community Center

The Broward Sheriff’s Office/Oakland Park District invites children and adults to its annual “Oakland Park Night Out” safety event at Collins Community Center (3900 NE Third Avenue) Tuesday, October 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. BSO’s Night Out, always popular with youngsters, features free bicycle helmets and a bike rodeo for children, as well as free school supplies and entertainment. Sponsors and volunteers provide refreshments to attendees. “We have developed this event to ensure the safety of our children by providing instruction and equipment to allow them to safely ride bicycles in our beautiful City,” says BSO/Oakland Park District Chief Al Hubrig. Chief Hubrig outlined other goals for this free community event: • Encourage dog walkers to “keep an eye on crime” in your neighborhood. Bring your dog to the event to sign up for “Dog Watch.” • Generate support for participation in local anti-crime programs. • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
