  1. Free Tree Giveaway

    June 22, 2019, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Wimberly Field

    The City’s will hold a free summer Tree Giveaway emphasizing native trees & shrubs and Florida-friendly landscaping beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the southwest corner of Wimberly Field (near the outdoor hockey rink). Florida-friendly landscapes protect Florida’s unique natural resources by conserving water, reducing waste and pollution, creating wildlife habitat, and preventing erosion. The available trees proven to be “Florida Friendly” and more resistant to strong winds will include native species such as Florida Slash Pine, Gumbo Limbo and Dahoon Holly. Several species of native flowering trees are also available, including Orange Geiger and Jamaican Caper. The summer tree selection also includes Florida-friendly fruit trees (Mango and Lychee) and native shrubs (Beautyberry, Walter’s Viburnum, Firebush and Milkweed).
