ALSO: Homebuyer Purchase Assistance (HPA) funds are still available in Oakland Park. Please note some important details below:

  • Due to COVID staff spacing, the income certification, approval and funding process is taking 5-6 weeks after receipt of a package from the lender. Please inform your clients of this timetable.
  • Income certifications are being handled by the County with the homebuyers telephonically and electronically.
  • Lenders may ask to reserve funds when the buyer has a pre-approval and has identified a property. Send an email to Suzanne Weiss (, Richard Yeargin ( and Irina Korovyakovskaya ( to ask about and reserve funds. The lender will receive a written confirmation of the reservation of funds.
  • Before the assistance can be provided, the Buyer must participate in a Homebuyer Education Class from a local HUD-approved housing counseling agency. A list of the local agencies is available here. Contact the agencies directly to register for an upcoming virtual, online or in-person class.
  • As always, funds are available on a first-come, first-qualified, first-served basis, until funds are fully expended.
