Oakland Park's Summer Food Program Underway Weekdays Noon to 1:30 PM

The Oakland Park City Commission recently authorized the City to participate in the 2020 Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) through the State of Florida, Department of Agriculture.

Free hot lunches & snacks are served Monday through Friday from noon to 1:30 p.m. through Tuesday, August 18th with the exception of July 4th when City facilities are closed for the Independence Day Holiday.

  • The SFSP is open to ALL children ages 18 and younger
  • TO-GO meals will be provided
  • No eating on premises at this time

For the 2020 SFSP, Oakland Park will serve free lunch and snacks at:

  • Collins Community Center, 3900 NE 3rd Avenue
  • North Andrews Gardens Community Center, 250 NE 56th Court
  • Spiher Recreation Center, 1246 NE 37th Street

Broward Schools Summer Meals Distribution Begins June 9 -- Includes Rickards Middle School in Oakland Park: On Tuesday, June 9, Broward County Public Schools will begin its Summer Meals program at 49 school sites throughout the District. Grab-and-go meal service will be open from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, providing children 18 years and younger, and adults who accompany them, meals for the entire week. Adults may receive meals for children who are not present by providing identification for the children. Adults wishing to receive meals must be present. Meals may be obtained by walking up or driving up to the designated location on campus. The Summer Meals program is made possible with the help of community partners including Feeding South Florida, Health Foundation of Broward, The Hunger Coalition, United Way of Broward, Miami Dolphins and The Jim Moran Foundation.
