Visionary Women – Champions of Peace and Nonviolence

Saturday, March 30, 2019

Age 18 and over. Celebrate Women's History Month at the Library and hear a panel discussion: Visionary Women – Champions of Peace and Nonviolence. This program, hosted by Carlene C Wright of Wright Encouragement, will include a PowerPoint presentation and the interviewing of Susan Kennedy of Bullets4Life and Maggie Blaise a domestic violence survivor. Susan Kennedy has dedicated herself to taking a peaceful approach to fighting gun violence with peace walks and by cleaning the streets of bullets. Maggie survived domestic violence and decided to take a stand against this problem through her organization, Free Yourself Women Foundation (http://freeyourselfwf.org/). Through this foundation Maggie provides scholarships for abused women to get an education/trade to help them gain their independence. Program participants will be given the opportunity to hear these women’s stories and to discuss the issues.
