Polynesian Cultural Festival at Jaco Pastorius Park

Sunday, February 24, 2019

Experience the culture, beauty, and spirit of the Polynesian Islands at the annual Polynesian Cultural Festival February 23-24 at Jaco Pastorius Park, 4000 North Dixie Highway. The hours of the festival are 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Polynesian festival offers all the entertainment and activities that festival-goers have come to expect from the dynamic array of ethnic identities, traditions, cultural expressions, native cuisine and artistry of Polynesian people from Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, and New Zealand (Maoris).

Performances will showcase authentic Polynesian dances and live music, native culinary specialties and a kid’s corner. There will also be hula dancing and contests, a ukulele exhibition, Tiki Bar with tropical libations, and the exciting fire & knife dancers. South Pacific arts & crafts – including fresh flower leis -- will also be on display and for sale.

“We want people who might not be able to visit the Polynesian Islands to have an opportunity to experience and learn about the history, ethnic heritage and culture of Polynesian and Pacific Islands,” explains the festival’s founder, Tama Leao.

Gate admission is $10 with children under 12 admitted free. For more information on the festival, sponsorships, or volunteer opportunities, contact: Tama Leao at 954-938-9010 or visit
