Why is the request being made?
Per §24-163(E)(2)(a), all new commercial construction requires a Neighborhood Participation Meeting.
What is the process for the request?
A Medical Marijuana Dispensary requires a Conditional Use Approval with specific distance separation requirements. After the applicant holds the required Neighborhood Participation meeting(s), a site plan application will be reviewed by the Development Review Committee (DRC). The DRC will review the plan for compliance with the applicable Codes. After the initial DRC meeting (to be scheduled at a later date), comments provided by the DRC must be addressed adequately; a resubmittal may be necessary. The application will then be forwarded to the Planning and Zoning Board followed by the City Commission.
