The City Seeks Input on the Oakland Park Facility Initiative

Oakland Park’s City Commission and City officials have mapped out a strategy for public engagement and exchange to evaluate the feasibility of replacing or upgrading various City facilities, including, but not limited:

  • Fire Station 87, 2100 NE 39th Street (Built 1982)
  • Fire Station 20, 4721 NW 9th Avenue (Built 1968)
  • Fire Station 9, 301 NE 38th Street/Park Lane East (Built 1967)
  • Public Works, 3801 NE 5th Avenue & 5100 NE 12th Terrace (Built 1965 & 1971)
  • Collins Community Center, 3900 NE 3rd Avenue (Built 1971)
  • North Andrews Gardens Community Center, 250 NE 56th Court (original building 1960’s)
  • Park Place (“L-Shaped Building”), 1101 NE 40th Court (Jaco Pastorius Park)
  • City Hall, 3650 NE 12th Avenue (Built 1963)
  • Spiher Recreation Center, 1246 NE 37th Street (Built 1975)
  • Ethel M. Gordon Oakland Park Library, 1298 NE 37th Street (Built 1963)

A “community engagement” event to discuss Oakland Park facilities – many more than 50 years old -- is scheduled for Wednesday, March 14 at Collins Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m.
