The festivities will commence with a pet walk, “Struttin’ for Strays”, a 1.25 mile walk down Oakland Park’s Main Street. The walk starts at 10 a.m. – visit www.doggyfunfest.com or the Doggy Fun Fest 2019 Facebook event page to learn how to participate, donate or to be a walk sponsor. Doggy Fun Fest begins at 11 a.m. at the City's Downtown Jaco Pastorius Park. Activities include a Doggy Fun Zone lure course, Central Bark’s "2nd Annual Notschund Race" at 1 p.m., cornhole tournament, pet adoptions, silent auction, raffles and more.

  1. Free Tree Giveaway

    To help fulfill the City Commission’s objective to rebuild Oakland Park’s tree canopy, the City will hold a Tree Giveaway at the southwest corner of Wimberly Field (near the hockey rink) Saturday, February 23 at 8 a.m. Included in the spring tree selection will be a wide variety of trees and shrubs. Small, medium and large sizes will be available. Information will be provided on the proper placement (“right tree in right place”) and planting of trees, as well as watering and maintenance tips.
