After School (ASCOOP)
Registration Opens July 1st


 

The new Broward County public school year begins August 14th and registration for the After-School Care of Oakland Park (ASCOOP) program opens July 1st.

The City’s certified staff offers children in grades K-8 assistance with completing homework and an opportunity to develop positive social interactions. The youth engage in challenging education and recreational activities, arts & crafts, and dramatics.

The City’s ASCOOP is a place for children to have supervised fun after a busy school day. There will be four 10-week sessions covering the upcoming school year which runs August 14-June 2, 2020.

Parents can register elementary and middle school children at City Hall weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The ASCOOP locations are:

North Andrews Garden Community Center
3 to 5:45 p.m.

Spiher Recreation Center
2 to 5:45 p.m.

Transportation is available for students from Lloyd Estates Elementary, Floranada Elementary, North Andrews Gardens Elementary and Oakland Park Elementary.

Public School Holidays


Teacher planning days are days when there is no school for children. The City of Oakland Park offers a safe organized environment offering parents peace of mind and children a day of excitement and fun. Activities include games, sports, tournaments, movies, and field trips.

  • Time: 7:30 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.
  • Fees:
    • Early Registration: Residents $10.00 ~ Non-Residents $15.00
    • Same Day RegistrationResidents $15.00 ~ Non-Residents $20.00

Early Release Days


Teacher in-service days when children are released from school prior to the normal ending time. This extended day of After School Care is free for all children enrolled in the After School Program.

    Spiher Recreation Center - Pick up by 5:45 p.m.
