Purchasing Division

The Purchasing Division oversees the purchasing function, to obtain goods and services in a transparent and competitive manner that ensures the most cost-effective use of city resources.

Bids & Solicitations
The Purchasing Division for the City of Oakland Park uses DemandStar for our formal invitation to bid, and request for proposal / qualifications notifications and vendor management distribution services. DemandStar also maintains a vendor list categorized by commodity codes for the specific materials and services offered by vendors.

Businesses who subscribe to the vendor list are notified by fax, or email whenever a formal sealed bid has been issued by the city, as well as other organizations, for the commodity/service that they provide. Vendors must register with Onvia DemandStar.

Surplus Auctions
From time to time, the City of Oakland Park makes city surplus tangible property available for sale to the general public via the Internet. Tangible surplus property will be sold to the highest bidder through an Internet auction process utilizing the services of Rene Bates Auctioneers. Information may be obtained at ReneBates.
